Summary of Role

My client is a major developer in the North East and has an exciting opportunity for an experiencedConstruction Professional to join their team on a permanent basis.They are looking for an experienced building professional to oversee the pre-contract work and tobe involved in the on-site construction phase at commencement of the works.You will be responsible for the pre-contract management on a number of smaller projects with avalue to £5.0m. As well as new build projects up to a value of £20mThis is an ‘on-site’ role and based in the Teesside area.

Skills

• The candidate must have been a business owner and understands the commercial running
• of a business (Preferable)
• The Candidate must have been a builder and has a specific trade that means they can
• understand how a structure is built from ground up for both refurbishment and new build projects.
• The Candidate needs to be able to read technical drawings and understand the build
• principle enough to make alternative construction recommendations to value engineer.
• The candidate needs to be able challenge our professional services confidently (architects,
• M&E engineer and structural engineer) for a better outcome
• The candidate neeeds to communicate effectively with all Directors, staff members,
• contractors and clients. Clearly articulating construction methods to all parties
• Procurement experience to understand ‘cost effective’ alternatives in terms material, plant
• and labour and capable of dealing with trade outlets
• Able to think fast, problem solve and capable of working under pressure
• Must have minimum 10 years experience in a Construction managerial role
• The candidate must have some commercial construction experience
• Full clean driving licence.
